THE GREAT VIOLINIST SERGEJ KRYLOV AT PIEVE A ELICI

Ten concerts, two months of high-quality music in a breathtaking setting! In the church of St. Pantaleone, in Pieve a Elici, on the Versilia hills of Massarosa, the Chamber Music Festival of Versilia returns for the 49th time. It’s organized by the Municipality of Massarosa and the Associazione Musicale Lucchese. A programme of international guests includes Alexander Kobrin, Pietro De Maria, Sergey Krylov, the Trio di Parma, Kirill Troussov, Alexandra Troussova and Enrico Dindo. Concerts begin at 9.15 pm.
Underlining the value of the event, there’s a prestigious media partnership with Amadeus music magazine, Rai Radio 3 and Sky Classic HD.
On Sunday, July 3 at 9.15 pm Sergej Krylov, considered one of the greatest violinists of all time, also known as a brilliant composer performs Stravinsky (Suite Italienne and Divertimento for violin and piano ) and Kreisler), accompanied on piano by Beatrice Magnani.

PIANIST MARTINA FILJAK AT PIEVE A ELICI
Saturday, July 9, Martina Filjak, a young pianist appreciated for her extraordinary technical mastery, charismatic personality and great stage presence, will play Haydn and Liszt, including some of the latter’s transcriptions of Bach and Donizetti.

THE TRIO DI PARMA AT PIEVE A ELICI

Sunday, July 17, there’s Schubert with the Trio di Parma, Ivan Rabaglia (violin), Enrico Bronzi (cello) and Alberto Miodini (piano). The program includes Schubert’s last two great trios.

THE QUARTETTO DI VENEZIA AT PIEVE A ELICI
Sunday, July 24, the Festival hosts the Quartetto di Venezia who will perform Mozart’s Adagio and Fugue in C minor K 546 and Beethoven’s quartets no. 14 in C-sharp minor, Op.131 and no 11 in F minor op.95.

ANDREA LUCCHESINI AT PIEVE A ELICI
The July concerts end on Sunday 31st, 9.15 pm with a recital by one of the Pieve’s most popular guests, pianist Andrea Lucchesini who plays Liszt and Chopin.

ENRICO DINDO AND PIETRO DE MARIA AT PIEVE A ELICI
Friday, August 5 there’s the welcome return of cellist Enrico Dindo and pianist Pietro De Maria who will perform two sonatas by Beethoven (Sonata in G minor, Op. 5 No. 2 and Sonata in D major, Op. 102 No. 2), Fantasiestücke op .73 by Robert Schumann and the Sonata in E minor, op. 38 by Brahms.

KIRILL TROUSSOV AND ALEXANDRA TROUSSOVA AT PIEVE A ELICI
Sunday 7th Kirill Troussov (violin) and Alexandra Troussova (piano), return to perform for the Lucchese Music Association after their great success at Lucca’s Classical Music Festival last May. The programme includes Prokofiev’s Sonata no. 2 op. 94, Schnittke’s Suite in the old style, Shchedrin’s In the Style of Albeniz, Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky.

PIANIST ALEXANDER KOBRIN AT PIEVE A ELICI.
On Sunday, August 14 pianist Alexander Kobrin performs Beethoven (Sonata Op.2 No.1 in F Minor, Op.101 Sonata no. 28 in A major) and Schubert (Sonata in B flat major no. 23 D .960).

NATASHA KORSAKOVA AND SIMONE SOLDATI AT PIEVE A ELICI

Violinist Natasha Korsakova and pianist Simone Soldati are the stars on Sunday, August 21st performing great music by Bach, Mozart and Beethoven with a dip into the twentieth century with Gershwin.

MARIA PERROTTA AT PIEVE A ELICI
The Pieve a Elici season closes on Sunday, August 28, with a recital by Maria Perrotta, a great international pianist, praised as a particularly communicative interpreter. She will perform Schubert’s “Grazer Fantasie” and his Sonata no. 14 in A minor D 894 op. 143, Chopin’s Berceuse in D flat major, Op. 57 and Beethoven’s Sonata no. 32 in C minor, Op. 111.
