Behind the name “Mozait” is one of the most interesting bands in Lucca. It’s made up by Piero Perelli (drums), Marco Bachi (bass and double bass), Paolo Sodini (guitar) and Filippo Guerrieri (keyboard). The project began in 2013 but has come to fruition in recent times with the arrival of the band’s singer, guitarist and songwriter Neco Novellas, Mozambican and resident in the Netherlands, who joined the band to record CDs and perform live dates. Neco gives his name to the rhythms and sounds of Mozambique (MOZ) which meet the melodic style of Italian musicians (IT). In January Mozait presented their latest project, Pure Water, with an opening night at the Blitz Live Music Pub of Pisa. The search for different fusions of styles is evident in this latest project which also has beautiful arrangements and a unique sound created by the mixture of different influences that make up this band.
